Cape & Islands Democratic Council
The Cape and Islands Democratic Council (CIDC) is a regional organization committed to advancing Democratic values and strengthening progressive leadership across Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. As a coalition of Democratic Town Committees, local organizers, and community advocates, we serve as a hub for coordination, collaboration, and civic engagement throughout the Cape and Islands.
Our mission is rooted in the belief that democracy works best when everyone has a voice and a seat at the table. We work year-round to elect Democrats at every level of government, support policies that promote equity and opportunity, and empower residents to get involved in the political process. From organizing canvasses and phone banks to hosting candidate forums and issue-based events, the CIDC is at the forefront of grassroots action in our region.
We also play a vital role in supporting our local Democratic Town Committees, offering resources, strategic guidance, and a shared platform for regional cooperation. Whether it’s amplifying the work of elected leaders, training the next generation of activists, or standing up for justice and inclusion, the Cape and Islands Democratic Council is committed to building a stronger, more united Democratic presence throughout our coastal communities.
