Sunday, November 12th - A Conversation with Setti Warren about the Opioid Epidemic, 1:00 pm - 3:00pm
Gus Canty Community Center, 790 Main St, Falmouth, MA 02540
Every day, five people suffer a fatal overdose, over 50 people suffer non-fatal overdoses, and about 70 people become addicted to opioids across Massachusetts. An estimated quarter of a million people are living with an addiction to prescription or synthetic opioids in Massachusetts right now. The stakes are high. We can’t afford to leave any good ideas off the table.

Tuesday, November 14 - Mass. Campaign for Single Payer Health Care is holding a lobby day that Senator Cyr and State Senator Jamie Eldridge are both helping to host. Please come up to Boston for it if you’re able. The day will be spent advocating for Senator Cyr’s single payer benchmark bill and Senator Eldridge’s Medicare for all bill. The Senate is also taking up an omnibus health care reform bill next week – and Senator Cyr is working hard to have his single payer benchmark proposal (which is a proposal Senator Wolf had made previously) added to the bill. That omnibus bill is online here. It is being taken up this Wednesday and Thursday. And comes after the senate just recently passed a bold and comprehensive criminal justice reform bill. Lots of progressive action going on right now.
